Fresno State Brand Style Guide

The Fresno State brand encompasses the work of many different people. When we all use the same elements and speak with a shared voice, we can tell a more powerful story. The Brand Style Guide is designed to help you tell this story more effectively — and harness the power of the Fresno State brand in your work.

What is a brand style guide?

A well-developed style guide is an essential tool for establishing a brand’s identity. It acts as a key reference that helps content creators communicate consistently with our audience. This brand style guide, covered over the Visual Identity, Content, and Resources tabs, outlines Fresno State’s brand standards for professionals (both on and off campus) who do marketing and communications work for our schools, colleges, areas, departments and programs. It includes guidelines for the applications and variations of our logos, color palettes, typography (font families, sizes, kerning and line height/spacing), photography and more.

Why is it important?

Having a reference for expected standards makes the lives of content creators much easier and gives them a solid framework to use for their work. Providing and following brand standards ensures that all of our content distinguishes the Fresno State brand from its competitors across the board. This cohesion helps establish a strong brand identity that resonates with our audiences — reinforcing both brand awareness and loyalty.

Brand Compliance 

Fresno State’s Brand Style Guide was developed by design, marketing and licensing experts who are well-versed in the university brand. These guidelines are meant to assist our entire campus community in developing branded materials that consistently meet the expectations of our various audiences. By submitting your materials for approval, you can confidently proceed with your promotions knowing you have the strength of the entire university brand behind you.
