University Marketing and Communications
Brand Assets
Brand assets are additional graphic elements that are used to support, promote and celebrate Fresno State.
Event or Celebration Graphic Marks
When commemorating a unique event or significant celebration, a special graphic may be developed for collateral and merchandise. These unique graphic marks must be approved by the office of University Marketing and Communications prior to use. Additionally, anniversary marks are typically limited to 25, 50, 75, and 100 years.
Guidelines:
- The event or celebration graphic must include who/what is being celebrated
- The graphic cannot be used beyond the term of the event (i.e. outside of the year of an anniversary, Vintage Days, Homecoming, etc.)
- The event or celebration graphic cannot be combined with the Fresno State logo or any sub-identity logo, and should not have the appearance of a combined identity.
- All collateral must include the Fresno State logo or sub-identity logo to visually identify that the event or celebration is hosted by Fresno State.
Checkerboard: Pattern of 3 blocks
The checkerboard pattern is made up of alternating cardinal red and white blocks in a row of three. This pattern was first used on the Fresno State football field end zones and has become a dynamic graphic element that represents strength, tradition and pride.
Guidelines: The pattern can be used in university and athletics marketing materials and displayed on licensed products. The pattern must always begin with the RED-WHITE-RED row.

Guidelines: Prior to use, all requests for use of the Victor E. Bulldog name and/or mark must be approved by Trademark Licensing. Additionally, all requests must be reviewed and approved by the FSAA.
